Things to Do

There are several excellent beaches that trail Malibu’s shoreline, and the first is the popular Zuma Beach with 1.8-miles of white sand and cresting waves, where many community members put their surfing skills to the test. Carbon Beach is another Malibu hotspot, where private residences line the shore and patrons can walk out onto the water on the pier. And of course, there’s the Big Dume Beach, with the marvelous ocean on one side and high cliffs on the other. When the surf is low, head down the steep staircase and out onto the white patch of sand to soak up the sun and play in the waves.

It backs onto the beautiful Malibu Lagoon State Beach, a popular destination for surfing, fishing, and picnicking. There’s also plenty of hiking trails for you to explore, such as the Tuna Canyon Park, Corral Canyon Park, or the Solstice Canyon, each with views of the ocean.
